Route 66: The Highlights

In 2010, I took a three-week solo trip down Route 66. I stopped where ever looked interesting, talked to many unique people from all over the country (and even a few from other countries), and had the time of my life.

In its heyday, Route 66 was so busy, school children and church goers had to cross under the street to make it safely to their destination.

Not a working gas station, but rather a Route 66 museum full of Bill Shea's private collection of Route 66 memorabilia.

A major part of Route 66 was the build board advertising. I was seeing signs for Meramec Caverns for at least a hundred miles before I actually got to them.
